Dear reader,
Love is giving someone the power to hurt you, but trusting them not too.
I admire old married couples.
Those that have lived with each other for a long long time.
I admire those that can just sit across the table, staring at each other, without saying a word, because there's simply nothing left to say. I admire them for their courage to be so emotionally attached to another human being, and their commitment and trust towards each other.
Do you find them amazing?
It's like you're standing at the edge of a cliff with a thousand miles below you. Your partner calls you, telling you to jump, saying that he would catch you. But do you jump? Do you dare to trust? Do you have the courage to put your life and your emotions into another person's hands? Knowing that if he suddenly decides to let you fall, it's really going to hurt and probably kill you?
I don't know... It's really crazy.
And I can't really can't comprehend how people muster up the courage to do so.
How is it possible that you could let your emotions be ruled by one sole person? Don't you fear that he or she might just let you go?
